Eric Burkett is a journalist and chef based in San Francisco. He began his career as a reporter working for Grapevine, a small, alternative weekly in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 19 and, after several years and a number of detours that took him to Vermont, New York City, Ontario, Montreal, and Antarctica he began writing for Anchorage Daily News in Alaska. He has also reported for Frontiersman, the local paper in Sarah Palin’s hometown Wasilla, Alaska, where he briefly covered her city hall, and Union Democrat in Sonora, California. In 2006, he enrolled in the culinary program at City College of San Francisco and began cooking professionally.
